Town of Hamden Town Board meeting of July 1, 2026
Superintendent Tweedie reported that CHIPS projects start on July 6th and should be done by July 9th. The equipment advertised on Auction International seems to be going well, with the exception of a couple of pieces. Bidding ends on July 2 evening.
The board gave permission for Superintendent Tweedie to make the decision whether to sell the items or rescind due to lack of interest.
The board approved the stream bank stabilization project on Hoyt Road where the stream intersects East Brook Road. This is funded and handled by DC Soil and Water Conservation District and the low bid went to Tweedie Construction.
Catskill Casting is working on our historic signs and should be completed by the 27th of July.
Schoolhouse Museum is open on July 12, and 26, 11 am to 2 pm.
The board approved a new playhouse for the playground at approximately $645. This will be partially funded by the O’Connor Foundation. Should receive it around July 10th.
The board approved advertising for fuel bids for August. They will be bid firm, prepay and fluctuating. This is for gasoline, propane, and diesel.
The board approved the Town Clerk as our Records Access Officer for the year. This should be done at the January organizational meeting.
The board approved Deputy Supervisor Dan Endress to be the second signature on banking accounts in case of the absence of the Supervisor.
The board approved replacing the Pruschki septic system in DeLancey. Pardee Excavating will be doing the system and it was priced out at about $30,000 and in accordance with the schedule of values as set by CWC. It is engineered as a pump system.
The planning board would like to revamp our 2006 Wind Energy Law and make it more in line with our Solar Law.
The battery storage company will be coming to our Planning Board meeting on July 28th at 7:30 pm. Supervisor Marshfield will have the link for the Battery Storage project on our website opening page.
2026 Town equalization rate is 100%.

Delaware County Board of Supervisors Meeting of July 22, 2026
A resolution was approved to amend the budget by accepting aid to Discovery in the amount of $100,000. This is for the Public Defender’s Office to cover fees for discovery and associated costs.
A budget amendment was approved in the amount of $24,947 with funding to target inflationary increases in Alcohol/Drug Abuse Council, Friends of Recovery and the Delaware County Department of Mental Health.
A budget amendment was approved for State Funding in the amount of $331,946. This is for monitoring of complex needs populations, risk management, service coordination and all other AOT LGU activities. It is to improve service coordination, including with hospitals, treatment providers, courts, local law enforcement and emergency response stakeholders.
A budget amendment in the amount of $15,000 for software was approved in the County Attorney’s Office for meeting FOIL requests. This would assist the County Attorney’s Office to meet these requests in a timely manner.
A budget amendment was approved in the amount of $32,114 to move funding from Contingency to Professional Fees Psychiatric care. This is for inmates deemed incapacitated to participate in their criminal defense proceedings.
A resolution was approved to award the low bid of tree cutting and trimming to Asplundh Tree Expert out of Horsham, PA.
A resolution was approved to award the low bid for painting of traffic lines to K&T Striping of Adams Center, NY.
The board authorized the disposition of a truck in the Department of Public Works. It is a 2007 Western Star.
A resolution was approved to modify the ag districts in the Towns of Meredith, Sidney, and Franklin. The public hearing was held on June 24th and about 56 acres were removed and about 606 acres were added to this Ag District No. 14.
